Welcome to Morning Mist Farm...
Morning Mist Farm is a family owned and operated multi-purpose farm. We raise poultry, waterfowl and grade paint horses out of quarter horse/mustang stock. We are pleased with what we have accomplished here and look forward to many more years of working this farm.
Our Horses
In 2001, we began breeding our horses for the specific purpose of being
work animals for use locally in the rugged Ozark Mountains. The
culmination of efforts has produced animals that are sure footed to the
extreme, that are stocky and very well muscled and that can fly through
the thickest Ozark brush and brambles effortlessly. We have two brood
mares
that are out of registered paint quarter horse stock and two half paint
quarter horse stock mares. Our Stud is a mustang paint (picture).
Though we were
never in this to get rich, we do sell three to seven horses a year now;
the sale prices start at about $175.00. We are also always open
for
trade/barter
deals, so don't be shy! Check out what we have for
sale now, what we might be
willing to trade for as far as things and services, and talk to us!Poultry and Waterfowl
We raise heavy mixed breed chickens (all brown egg layers), Guinea Fowl, Heritage Bronze Turkeys and Royal Palm turkeys for our own use and we do sell excess birds occasionally. We hatch our own eggs in our own home made incubators and raise our chicks in our own brooders and pens. We have very recently acquired a small flock of bantams, they are laying and we are incubating; we will see what the market is for these birds, and, if profitable we will continue to raise some.
Other CrittersWe can't forget to mention our llama, Luna, protective of the foals in the extreme. We also have lone Black Shouldered peahen that needs a mate, so if you have some peafowl that you would consider trading for something or selling please contact us. |
