How we buy eggs:
We buy in quantities as listed in the table above; and, we are always on the lookout for more sellers. We will continue to buy from people that have provided us with eggs that have a hatch rate at or better than 9 out of each dozen. In other words, we won't continue to buy from sellers that routinely provide low fertility eggs. If eggs are delivered to the farm, you will get your egg cartons back immediately. If we pick up eggs or meet with you somewhere, we will do our best to give you an equal number of empty cartons. We pay cash and we will do our best to have exact change for you.During the hatching season (late February through late September), optimally, we would to and do try to procure approximately 200-300 eggs per week in aggregate.
Our Egg Requirements:
- Eggs must be turned at least once daily (twice would be better) prior to delivery or pick-up
- Peafowl. Waterfowl and turkey eggs must be no older than 48 hours.
- Chicken eggs must be no older than 96 hours old.
